Key Steps to File Pre-filled Returns (P9)

Choose Pre-populated Option: Select the option for pre-filled or pre-populated income data.

Important Considerations

Deadline: Returns must be filed by June 30th of the following year to avoid a penalty of Ksh 2,000.
If Data is Not Pre-filled: If your employer has not filed their returns, the data will not be pre-populated, and you will have to manually fill in the P9 details.
Multiple Employers: If you had more than one employer during the year, you may need to file using the manual Excel upload method to combine the details from multiple P9 forms.
Accuracy: Even if pre-filled, the responsibility to ensure the figures match the P9 form lies with the taxpayer.
